This is my self made long legbrace. It has no knee joint, because it´s essential for me to have a permanently straight leg. At the bottom there is a walking stirrup (I do not know the correct English term for this, you can surely tell) and I attached a wooden Scholl sandale as a foot rest. Of course, at the other leg there is a shoe builtup of 2 centimeters, though 3 cm would make walking a bit easier. I consider to replace those simple leather belts with a professional looking leather cuffs from vintagebraces. Though I still need to learn how those professional cuffs are mounted to the brace. I have used screws, I think 3mm in diameter.

I reply to myself, first to find out, whether I get email notification for a replay and second to add two more pictures, in the first message the upload limit was reached I guess. Here you can see in detail how I attached the wooden sole. Yes, I made it shorter with a saw, for purpose, this makes easier to rest the foot / leg on a chair e.g. in a train, to directly rest the foot on a chair.

Arthrodesis,
Yours is a lot better than the self-made ones I used to make. Tell us more about when and where you wear it. I hope you are able to get about in it. Do you do the build up on the opposite side yourself. I have sometimes been to a local cobbler who will do raises.

Very interesting leg braces, why did you do the special bottoms ? Do you have ones that just go into your shoes ? Do you have an e mail that you use just for these kinds of chats so Its easier to chat ? Bruce
