Thanks was wondering and any other recommendations that would make my wearing easier? Should I dive in and wear them all day or gradually get used to them?

No idea about settling in time as I have never worn mine for significant periods, but it did take a week or more to get the fit perfect even though they were made to measure. You will probably need to keep adjusting them until they fit, especially the location of the hinges so they are comfortable when straight and bent.

Yea and would need to get a tool to adjust them also I'm hoping to get a TLSO soon because I looked at the brace and realized I want something that covers my torso too, I'm sure when I get it it'll be a few weeks to get it right I'm assuming adjust while sitting would be easier?

Although I only have one kafo, I have slept with it on. The firs time I tried, I kept waking up and eventually took it off. The next time was rather more accidental in that I just lay on the bed, not intending to sleep and then woke up having slept all night! It was interesting as the kafo then felt totally comfortable as i had become totally used to it overnight. I dont like having to keep the boot on all night though. As you mentioned underwear, personally I would be uncomfortable without any, however I could see that it would be quite awkward with hkfos for 'bathroom visits'. I find that the most convenient is an athletic support (jockstrap), and super comfortable anyway. Certainly shorts are easiest outer wear but I still have a lot of trouble working out the best way of getting anything on over kafos as reaching to get feet through anything is difficult. A 'grabber' aid or two can help a lot especially if knees are locked.

Between wearing a series of AFOs on my right leg and eventually getting a KAFO, the orthotist gave me a postoperative brace similar to the leg section of the larger brace featured on Amazon. I wore it daily and did more or less what I wanted including going on holiday and doing a lot of country walking. Unsurprisingly it broke, but fortunately at home. So they are not as strong as KAFOs made for everyday living. Alltogether I had three before the orthotist said I needed a proper one. It was comfortable except in hot weather. The orthotist fitted it; it is probably designed to be bent to a certain extent so that it can be shaped to your body. It is also designed to break in particular places so that it can fit a shorter person! I hope you like wearing it, just don't test it to its limits!

Or lying down? You could make an outline of your body on a large piece of paper, e.g. lining paper, and then compare the brace with it,- so you can see what most needs adjusting. (The other week the orthotist took my present brace and drew round it. He then made alterations to the outline to take account of what changes I had asked for.) Where there's a will there's a way. Good luck!

Get crutches with "ergnomic" handles- shaped to fit each hand. The disadvatage is you have a left-handed crutch and a right-handed one, but they are more comfortable than the ones that are not shaped for left and right.

I echo what Rowland said with the crutches.
I remember getting my first pair of Ergo crutches and was thinking why didn't I have a pair of these from day 1. (Still got a pair)
I didn't care about the fact there is a left and right hand crutch, They allowed me to walk a lot further and that was the thing that mattered to me the most.
